Ebay has a bluetooth OBDII Code Scanner that pairs with your Android phone for $5 and free shipping! It might not be the best thing out there, but to just read a code every once in a while, $5 seems like a great deal! !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

One of my brothers has one similar to that. Works well... except that for some reason Powerstroke diesels are iffy and don't like to talk to them.

I love this thing. The neat thing is how different cars will have different parameters they spit via this thing into the Torque app (which I read the scanner with)
I tried it on a current direct injected car and it gave me fuel rail pressure , as an example. That was the most unique parameter I've gotten.
Some other cars have given me oil pressure, water temp, ignition timing advance, and way way more.
$5 is supremely NP

Is it just a code reader, or can you pair it with Torque to get a readout of engine information?

Powerstokes are known to be luddites. Making them go ODBII was bad enough, when you come at them with all this bluetooth smartphone stuff, they be like;

I have one, works pretty good! It is a little delayed on giving readings but its better than nothing! Especially on cars with limited gage clusters.

I ordered a slightly nicer one a few weeks ago, but it's taking its sweet time getting here.

From what I was reading Torque and similar apps will pair with it.. but it just isn't the fastest or best to use with it

Meh, I see people complain about the refresh rates of various OBD readers, and I don't get it. If you're monitoring things like oil pressure or oil temperature with it, how quickly do you need it to refresh? I would just like to be able to confirm that it's good when on track more than anything.

I think the main complaint was from people who were trying to use it as a speedo and tach; it wouldn't work well for that. But for what you need I could see it working fine

Yeah, probably.

Thanks for the heads-up! I just bought one.

Heads up I had one of those and found out it won't read codes on early 00's GM cars

Anyone know an iOS one?

I'd been kicking around the idea of getting one of these for awhile, but never really looked into it.
Thanks to you, I have one already en route to me. Thank you!

I love mine it comes in handy as a super cheap code scanner
